现代语言, 文献, Cultures is a multidisciplinary field group encompassing curriculum 和 programing in both languages 和文化s 和 in 写作. We invite students to see languages 和 literacies as social practices. Based on the assumption that communication is always situated, the field group–across its domains of interdisciplinary expertise–engages students to speak, 写, read within communities of practice as co-producers of knowledges. 以实践和社区为基础的语言课程, 写作, 和教学, 学生调查文化生产, 循环, 以及交际练习的使用, exploring how language shapes 和 is shaped by its diverse practitioners. Our guiding principle is the deceivingly simple idea that language is a social practice.
